About Me

Hello,

My name is Eric Dunnigan, and this is my 6th year of teaching at Saratoga Elementary.

I’m native to Lincoln and went through school as an Lincoln Public Schools Student. I attended Zeman Elementary, Pound Middle and Lincoln East High.

For college I attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln where I was a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education. During college I worked with YMCA at their Community Learning Center located at Elliott Elementary where I worked for three years. I also worked doing home therapy using an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) model, working closely with the family and the other therapists there.

I am currently taking classes again through University of Nebraska-Lincoln Special Education department, where I am working on getting my Master’s Degree with a focus on Behavior.

Last summer I married my wife surrounded by family and friends here in town on a hot July day.

I enjoy running and exercising outside on one of Lincoln’s wonderful bike paths or in the air-conditioned (and during the winter heated) gym. I have been running since high school and have ran the Lincoln Half Marathon twice, last year finishing in a time of 1:57:08. Being out doors on a bike path, is calming experience and great way to relax despite the occasional side-ache.

I enjoy reading, novels, short stories and most importantly comic books. As well as watching movies, and playing video-games when I’m not studying, lesson planning or exercising.
