“Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and thrill of creative effort.”

Franklin D. Roosevelt

Artifacts, Documents, and Place, Oh My!

Don’t worry; there are no flying monkeys in my classroom. What you will find are students immersed in American history.

Students will examine real artifacts such as a 100-year old buttonhook, Depression-era glass, or buffalo bones and “artifakes” such as a 7-inch bear claw, a Civil War belt buckle, or Lewis and Clark uniforms. They’ll read and analyze historical documents, role-play wearing period clothing, and examine the places where history occurred.
