  1. Warm-up – do we use por or para? and what is the reasoning? Completed with partner and notes.
  2. Reading in Context 2 – p. 160. Comprehension questions using vocabulary and future tense verbs.
  3. White boards to practice por or para, future tense conjugations and vocabulary. Quizlet live – vocabulary practice.
  4. Discussion about next weeks project – think of 3 animals to combine in a new creation and what they will do in the future/how survive, make the world a better place. Reviewed some animals.
  5. Quiz on Monday.

  1. Warm-up – using current vocabulary – answering questions, describing items, conjugating in the preterit.
  2. Video clip and question using the “how long ago….” structure – preterit.
  3. Video clip – vocab and grammar – paused and discussed grammatical structures. Market vocabulary activity – similar to section of quiz tomorrow.
  4. Practice with phrases and ustem verbs – posted on classroom so can use to study for quiz.

Español 3

  1. warm-up – using vocabulary and future tense verbs. Discussed with partner.
  2. Experiment video clip.
  3. Listening activity – fill in blank – song with future tense. Discussion comprehension – what’s the song about? Future tense practice and corrected answers.
  4. Finished por/para notes. Hands on activity with por/para phrases and partner.
  5. Quiz on Monday. Tomorrow will do more practice with vocab, future and por/para and talk about next weeks project so students can think about it over the weekend.

  2. Reading Contexto 1 p. 155 and comprehension questions. p. 156. Reading about lake and it’s transformation – connecting to what students will be doing as summative paper/poster/presentation next week.
  3. Notes por/para. Listening for use of por/para and classifying according to notes. notes on por/para phrases.

  1. warm-up – write a paragraph of 5 level 2 complex sentences using the preterit form of given verbs in the yo form and lots of current vocabulary. Use connecting words as well. Talked about accents and preterit forms.
  2. irregular stem verb notes and practice p. 173 textbook for notes – practice on classroom – finish for tomorrow – due at the beginning of class.
  3. Notes – How long ago something happened – p.175 text – worksheet practice – finish for tomorrow – write out the question and the answer. We discussed what the verbs were and did the first one together – will be checked beginning of class tomorrow.
  4. Quiz on Friday Feb 8th – how long have you been doing something and how long ago you did something, vocabulary and ustem preterit verbs. Test Friday Feb 15 – all the previous material from the quiz and stem-change preterit verbs.

Started U 3.2 Jan 28th – have worked with vocabulary and the structure – how long have you been doing something and reviewed preterit tense.  U 3.1 – 3 weeks, beg of semester – Jan25. (Clothing, review irregular yo present tense, giving opinions and talking about clothing fit.

  1. Warm-up – future tense verbs and with sentences.
  2. Pronunciation of vocabulary and discussed difference in verbs and nouns, adjectives. Additional vocabulary added as a help with the upcoming in class paper. Discussed spelling changes in verbs from this lesson.
  3. Text book – reading pp. 150-151 and 152-153.
  4. Homework – worksheet – future tense.
  5. Quiz – Friday Feb 9 – vocabulary, future tense and por/para.

Started U 3.1 Jan 31 – vocabulary and future tense. U 2.2 begin of semester till Jan 29. newspaper vocabulary, impersonal expressions and reviewed and worked extensively with all forms of commands.

  1. Speaking and Writing Final study questions – discussed what tense the questions were in and how to answer them. Using a variety of 2nd year semester 1 vocabulary. Speaking Final Tuesday Dec. 11. Written Final, Thursday Dec 13.
  2. Discussed expectations for mini-project and shared examples. Reutrned 5 minute write from yesterday with corrections to help. time to write. All written work stays in the classroom. Due Wednesday Dec 12.
  3. Posted review packets to classroom in case students misplaced their hard copies.

Español 3

Study for written final. Discussed questions and verb tenses to pay attention to. Posted Review packet on Classroom – write answers on own piece of paper and answers will be available to check with completion of entire page. Written question study sheet also posted to classroom (In case student loses goldenrod sheet)

Español 2

Warm-up with reflexive verbs and present progressive. Work form yesterday collected and checked and returned. Reviewed present progressive again. Practice with vocabulary, body parts vocabulary, reflexive pronouns with a couple different games. Quiz tomorrow.

Español 3

Warm-up – commands with vocabulary. Review where place direct and indirect object pronouns with commands, which order and if go in front or attached(and reflexive pronouns). Practice with phrases from yesterday. Notes Usted, Ustedes and nosotros commands, spelling changes and difference with nosotros. Practice. video clip and taking note of challenges/obstacles Cesar Chavez faced and how he overcame them.

  1. Warm-up – review present tense regular verb endings. Reflexive pronouns and how to conjugate reflexive verbs and then practice.
  2. Speaking practice with present tense reflexive verbs. Review regular preterit verb endings and practice with preterit and reflexive verb routines.
  3. Notes – present progressive p. 124 and practice.
  4. Semester 1 Review packet passed out to each student. Students should start working on this – it will be checked for credit towards the end of next week. If students have completed pages done before then and would like to come in after school to check with the answer keys, they are welcome to do so. Written/speaking questions will be given out later this week.
