Dawes Families,
At Dawes we believe engaging and connecting families to our school community is essential in ensuring the success of your student. In order to build strong productive relationships between school and home we work to offer many different ways to connect you with your student’s school experience.
To learn more about how your student is doing academically we recommend parents sign up for Parent Internet Viewer (PIV) access. This allows you to view your student’s grades and attendance daily. To set up your account you need to contact La’Shaundra Swift in the main office and update your email account. We also strongly suggest attending parent teacher conferences with your student next week. Conferences will provide you with an opportunity to obtain descriptive feedback about your students academic progress, work study habits, and social behavior skills.

Another way to connect to Dawes is through attending our Parent Organization on the second Tuesday of each month from 7:00-8:00 in the media center. At the meetings parents receive monthly updates from the principal, ask questions and give input about Dawes, and work together to support the Dawes Community.
Finally, we encourage families to attend special events and programs scheduled to celebrate, educate, and enrich the school experience. On Thursday this week the band and orchestra students are hosting Ensembles Ala Mode to raise money for the instrumental music program. Join us anytime between 6:30 and 8:00 for music, ice cream, and fun.
