Dynamic Diamondback of the Week

Did you know? Did you hear? Ms. Fisher is engaged to her fiancé, Ryan Sullivan. She got engaged on Halloween last year and they are planning to have a small wedding with only close friends and family.

They first met when Ms. Fisher’s cousin moved out from Pennsylvania in 2008. They met up in Lincoln. Her cousin brought along a friend, which was Ryan. They became great friends.

The proposal was, let’s just say, sweet. It took place on Halloween last year when her cousins family came to her house trick or treating. The little girl gave Ms. Fisher a piece of candy, that had a note enclosed in it. When she read the note, she turned around and Ryan was on one knee and asked the question. Of course, she said yes.

Congratulations Ms. Fisher!!!

The Dynamic Diamondback of the Week

Have you heard yet? Mr. Meter is transferring to East High School! He has accepted a job teaching freshman and sophomore math. Which, more specifically, is algebra and geometry.

Mr. Meter teaches seventh and eighth grade math here at Dawes. He has been teaching here for two years and has made great relationships with students and staff, so he will miss them dearly. However, he does think that the teacher taking over his position, will jump in and do her best. This is her first time teaching, so she will probably do very well.

Mr. Meter is sad to be leaving Dawes because he has made some great relationships here at Dawes with numerous students and teachers.

We hope that Mr. Meter will have a great time at East and be able to succeed with this new chapter in his life.

Ann likes all her new teachers because they are fun. She also started a new blog on tumblr this summer.

Mackenzy Ehlers is 14 year old 8th grader at Dawes Middle School and is currently getting ready for transition for 9th grade at East High School. Mackenzy is extra excited to be enrolled at East because she was notified earlier after trying out for cheer that she made the team.

While interviewing Mackenzy I asked her a few questions like: how she would describe herself in one word. She answered with “Smiley.”. So i proceeded to ask what makes her smile. “Friends, Family, The things that I do with them.”

I also asked her to picture herself in 5 years she stated ” I would be out of high school so probably in college…” College seems like a great choice and I believe that Mackenzy can succeed in anything she can put her mind to.

Lazy Summers

Article by:Morgan Strodtman

I interviewed Amina Arnautovic and one of Dawe’s new students Craven Vella. These too had a very laid back summer. They spent time with family and friends, but Amina was excited to come back to school to see all the old faces from last year. Craven had an okay first week of school getting to know new people and making friends. Amina had a fun week too. She spent her week catching up with friends she didn’t see during the summer. Amina’s favorite class so far is English with Mrs. Larson. She enjoys this class because many of her friends are in that class with her. Craven enjoys physical education with Mr. Miller because he likes to get out of the regular class room and get some exercise, he also likes that he has this class with his friends. Amina’s favorite teacher so far is Mr. Tuttle because he is funny and always makes class exciting and entertaining.
