Spanish 2

1.     Vocab recall and use in sentance.

2.     Homework credit given for completion and discussed for speaking points.

3.     P. 38 Act. 2 – students wrote down the vocab for the speaking activity first and then practiced speaking with their partner.

4.     Telehistoria –pt 1, p. 39 and comprehension activity Act. 4 p. 40.

5.     Maleta activity – started in class and will have work time tomorrow in class as well. Students are to draw and color 10 items that they would put in their checked luggage. They should also draw items for their carry on, especially using new vocabulary. Then they are to write Spanish 2 level sentences saying what it is they are taking (detailed description) and why. 10 sentences for the checked suitcase and 5 for the carry-on.

Spanish 1

1.     Review weather.

2.     Students read silently P. 54-55 – intro to new lección. Answered 3 questions about the pages in Spanish. P 56-57 – Presentation of new vocab. Students looked for words they already knew or could guess because they are cognates (words that look alike and mean similar things in 2 different languages) – listening and discussion.

3.     Vocab list passed out and students pronounced new vocab.

4.     P. 58 Act. 1 – students did activity where they matched opposites using new vocab lists. They also wrote Act. 2 p. 58 – complete sentences which was collected for credit.

Homework due tomorrow – Students had time to work on homework – writing the vocab 3 times in Spanish and 1 time in English. This needs to be handwritten- studies show handwriting increases learning.
