Travail d’été – Français BI 1 et 2

Summer Work for Fall IB 1 and IB 2 French Students

What plan of action will you design in order to practice French as much as possible in order to reach higher levels of proficiency?

Log: The link below is to the travail d’été log, which is due for a grade on August 18, 2017 when we return from summer break. The expectation is that you’ll have it filled out and signed by an adult!

Travail d’été

The expectation is that you’re spending 120 minutes per week (3/4 to IB1) and 150 minutes per week (IB1 to IB2), interacting with the language. Vary what you use on this site each week. For example, listen to the news one week, then try some games another week, listen to music to understand them or practice your grammar and vocabulary, review some of the textbook activities and games at the bottom of the page. etc. The more variety the more skills you develop.

Video games

  • Do you play video games with gamers from other countries that speak French? Maybe this can be part of your weekly time from time to time.

Reading

  • Make sure you’re doing your assigned reading and keeping track of what you’ve read in your journal de lecture! If you need another book, let me know and we’ll coordinate how to get you a different book.

Téléphonez-moi

  • Call my Google Voice number: 402.937.8101.  Greet me in French, tell me your French name and last name.  Talk for a minute or two about your summer vacation activities up to this point: family, friends, weather, your job, movies or books, travel, daily routine, etc.  use a variety of tenses and grammar.  Just keep talking!  Do not use notes.  Draw pictures instead to remind yourself of what you want to say.
