February 21, 26            Parent Teacher Conferences*

*We’ll do a group/family plan for assigning PT Confs times this year.

First, SpEd students and ELL students (and their siblings) will be scheduled.

Next, families of multiple children will be scheduled.

Then, families with one child will be scheduled.

This is a big undertaking, but if done correctly, will have interpreters and SpEd teachers at the conferences they’re needed.  It will also help classroom teachers get those hard to reach families here at one time, even to the point of “tag teaming” for conferences.

4.  Transition meetings:

Tues, May 8            K to 1
Wed, May 9            1 to 2
Thurs., May 10              2 to 3

Mon., May 14            3 to 4
Tues., May 15  4 to 5

All meetings start at 8:10 in the media center.
Needed:
All = laptops
Sending grade= class lists dividing students (esp. behavior/conflict issues)
completed “big transition sheets” online
Receiving grade = be able to tell how you want to organize (ie, what subject is homeroom, who is teaching diff R/M?, what will you             walk students for?, how you’ll incorporate SpEd…)

5.  Thank you all for the input on scheduling for 2012-13, via the green sheets.

Annette and Wendy B. will share the master schedule (as is).

With this plan, we’ll have co-teaching in reading in grades 1-5, which includes the classroom teacher, a Special Education teacher, and an interventionist!

HOORAY!  Could be fabulous!

6.  Bullying Survey

Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will complete on May 7-10 in computer class, with Mrs. Murphy, Mrs. Mahoney, and/or Dr. B.

Parents and staff have from May 7-May 18 to complete the online survey.

Students are being very sincere and straight forward in their answers and comments!  All staff and parents of all grades of students should respond.

7.  BIST on May 8th

Debbie Capra will be at Randolph on May 8th.

Her after school session will be on “Teacher Survival Skills”…

See you at your “Final 15”.

For 2012-13, consultants will have a topic for each after school meeting.  The final fifteen will be a basic question, with time for teams to consider and respond, or ask for specific assistance.

Next GET meeting = June 13
