Bonswa! (bong-swa!) That means Good Afternoon in Creole. Haitians speak a language called Creole. We have packed our suitcases one last time and ended up with 34 in addition to our carry on bags. Each bag weighs as close to 50 pounds as we could get it. That is as much as a pretty good sized kid! The bags are loaded with medical supplies such as bandages, antibiotics, crutches, etc. We are also taking lots of vitamins, soccer balls, beanie-babies, underwear, shorts, and t-shirts for the orphans. These are the bags that will be stowed in the cargo portion of the plane. The things that I will need personally while we are there all go into a backpack that I will carry with me onto the plane. This is because sometimes we don’t get the big suitcases right away when we get to Haiti and I really want to have my toothbrush with me. I am really excited since we are leaving so soon. I hope I can send you some messages from Haiti so that you can see what I am up to each day! Babay! (Ba-bye!)
