On a Macintosh:
Accents: Option e – release – then the vowel that you wish to be accented
Tilde: Option n – release – n
Umlaut: Option u – release – u
Question marks: Shift Option ?
Exclamation marks: Shift Option !
On a Windows machine :
Go to My computer, click on control panel, regional and language options, language, add language, Spanish Modern Sort, Apply, preferences, United States International keyboard, set as default.
Accents: Apostrophe then whatever vowel you wish.
Tilde: Shift tilde then “n”
Question marks: Control alt question mark
Exclamation marks: Control alt exclamation mark
Umlaut – quotation marks u
Windows XP: Go to my computer, click on control panel, click on region & language, click on languages / detail / Add: Spanish (Mexico) United States International keyboard.
Accents: Apostrophe then whatever vowel you wish.
Tilde: Shift tilde then “n”
Question marks: Control alt question mark
Exclamation marks: Control alt exclamation mark
Umlaut – quotation marks u
Windows Vista: Go to my start, click on control panel, click on language, region
Click on keyboards and language.
Click on change keyboard
Click on Add
Scroll down and find the Spanish (United States)
On Keyboard, scroll down to United States International and click
Click on Apply, then OK
