About Mrs. Douglas

Hello!

As a native to Lincoln, I graduated from  Lincoln High in 2002. I then headed on to the University of Lincoln, Nebraska where I received my bachelors of English, focusing on Creative Writing. I moved right into graduate school and received my teaching certificate in Secondary English and ELL, also from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, in 2010 and my Master’s of Arts in Education with a focus on Language, Literacy, and Culture  in the fall of 2012. I recently began a second Master’s of Arts in Education focusing on Curriculum Development and Reading through the University of Central Michigan.

For the past 4 years I have been a teacher with Lincoln Public Schools. I began my tenure here in the fall of 2010 at Clinton Elementary School. I remained there for one year and then I moved to Lincoln High School where I spent the last three years. This past school year I took a leave of absence to spend time with my young daughter and to begin a second master’s degree.

I am currently married to a wonderful man named Jimmy and we have a daughter named Alba and two dogs named Mr. Darcy and Charlie Brown. In our spare time I like to read novels, walk on the bike path near our home,  play with Alba, watch entirely too much Netflix, and travel.

It is so nice to meet you!
