Growth Mindset
“If parents want to give their children a gift, the best thing they can do is to teach their children to love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy effort, and keep on learning.” – Carol Dweck

Carol Dweck is a researcher and the author of Mindset. Dweck tells us that some children have a fixed mindset. Individuals with a fixed mindset believe that people are either born smart or not and that our talents and abilities cannot be changed. We want our children to adopt a growth mindset and focus on effort rather than on intelligence or talent. Individuals with a growth mindset have “GRIT.” GRIT stands for Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Tenacity.
