LPS school social workers (SSW) serve in a variety of capacities. They work closely with school counselors and school psychologists.
Each SSW is a licensed mental health professional. They typically work to connect families and/or students with standard of living resources and support (clothing, food, shelter, etc.) They may also assist with student attendance by meeting with families to developing action plans to help students show up for school each day.
