Homework Expectations

Homework is an extension of what we do in the classroom and is so very important!

* Your student will be bringing home a new spelling list on the first school day of the week. They should spend 10 15 minutes each evening on word memorization. But what’s even more important is that they should be using the words in their speaking and writing. Putting their into silly sentences is a fun way to study their words.

*  Math homework will sent home most every day. The exceptions will be test days and days where I don’t feel they are ready to complete it independently. I accept math homework anytime up until 3 days after the test. A student may miss one assignment and still be eligible for our Homework Lunches.

*  Occasionally there will be special homework assignments in other areas of the curriculum.

Please find a quiet place for your student to do his/her homework and make sure they have placed it back in their backpacks to return to class the next day.

Ultimately your student’s homework is their responsibility! Get them into the habit of completing it early on!
