THANK YOU!! The Lux and Mickle’s Wellness Committee’s challenged each other to see which school could donate the most blood during a blood drive at their school. School staff and parents were all invited to donate. The winning school received books for their library from NE Community Blood Bank and a cookie treat for their staff from the losing school (and of course bragging rights for the next year.) We were inspired to do this by a headline on the LPS page early this year of a similar challenge between two elementary schools. Thank-You cards for the donors and for working the refreshment table after the donors were done donating. The results are in…
32 Units Collected!
18 New Donors!!
34 Units Collected!!
14 New Donors!
Mickle has won this year’s competition! NCBB also wanted to note how many first time donors were introduced to donating blood because of your drives. 32 new donors! Because they were both so successful NCBB didn’t feel it was fair to only give money for books to one. NCBB would like to donate $100 to Mickle for the most units and $50 to Lux for the most new donors. The librarians at each school provided a list of books they would like and NCBB will purchase and deliver them.
THANK YOU to all that participated in this worthwhile cause and helped so many!
Congratulations to Mrs. Pfoltner and Ms. Feeken and their classes for winning the treats from Dairy Queen for collecting the highest percentage of boxtops this quarter.
