 Announcements for Students:

Mickle’s Planner Word of the Week: Self Discipline- Once you have a plan, stick with it! Your self-discipline will serve you well both now and in the future.

Halloween Haunted House!!  A Clean Teen Event hosted by Boy Scouts will be this Saturday, Oct. 22nd and Bethany Christian Church from 6-10pm.  If you’re interested in attending, please pick up a flyer in the office!!

Congratulations to Mrs. Kiburz’s class for being the 1st place winner for the collection of the box tops and to Mrs. Montgomery’s class for winning 2nd place.
Both classes will celebrate with an ice cream cake next week.
Individual winners will be announced later this week.

Thanks to everyone who collected.  There were over 5500 box tops turned in–that’s $550 earned for our school.  Keep clipping there will be another collection in December.

Don’t forget – next Tuesday, October 25th is the 7th annual Mickle Wellness Fair.  We hope you and your families and friends can join us for an evening of activities and fun.  How fast can you throw a baseball?  Join us in the west gym from 5:00-5:30 or 6:00-6:300 and see if you can qualify to have a chance to win a gift certificate to Scheel’s.  Be sure to stop in the auditorium from 6:00-6:30 to watch performances by the Capitol City Cloggers.  Don’t forget to join the technology committee in the cafeteria for those delicious waffles and sausage made by The Waffleman.  Cost is $5 a person for all you can eat.

The Mickle Diversity Club, formerly the caucus, will meet this Thursday from 3-4 in the media center.   

ROADS, RAILS, AND RACECARS! is a brand new CLC club starting after school this coming Monday, Oct. 24th.  This club is open to all Mickle students interested in working with UNL scientists to learn about race car crash-testing, geographic positioning systems, and engineering.  We will meet from 3:00 to 4:00 in room 104 in the 7th grade hallway.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Rousseau.  We hope to see you this coming Monday for this exciting new ROADS, RAILS, AND RACECARS! after school CLC club.

 

Is there a pet in your life that you LOVE?  Then enter them in the annual Mickle Pet Show! The media center has entry forms available! Simply write about the pet and submit a picture of them sometimes between now and Winter Break.  All entries will be displayed in the media center and included in the annual Pet Show book!   In December, we will randomly draw one winner from each grade level and one staff winner to win their own personalized READ poster featuring a picture of you and your pet!  Stop in the media center for more information!

 

Illusion Theatre will be back at Mickle Oct. 26th for 7th Graders and October 27th for 6th Graders.

Belmont Recreation Center 6-8 GRADE TEEN NIGHT Friday Oct. 21st from 7:00-9:00p.m (stay in the center the whole time) at the Belmont Recreation Center 1234 Judson. Play basketball, volleyball, kickball in the gym. Go to the game room for pool, table tennis, foosball.  Pick out a board game & have some fun with a friend.  Snacks and drink provided! Tennis shoes are required and student id.

Yearbooks can be ordered in Room 125 between 7:30 – 7:55 tomorrow and next Tuesday mornings. Price is $18.00 until January.  Get your receipt for your order from Mrs. Searls in room 125.  Thanks

7th and 8th GIRLS BASKETBALL begins next Monday – Oct 24th after school.
Interested 7th/8th grade girls – please report to the gyms.

Mickle Caucus will meet with students tomorrow night (Thursday) from 3-4pm in the Media Center.

Tomorrow Morning, Thursday starting at 7:00am, is the next Campus Life meeting. Please enter through the 7th grade doors and be in attendance by 7:15am.
