Below are the suggested steps for completing the SD Mines college admissions process:
- Students should schedule a campus visit to see where they will be studying, eating, sleeping and enjoying campus life. We offer personalized visits throughout the week as well as group visits and then we have select dates for our Go To Mines Open Houses.
- Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Students should apply for freshman scholarships (deadline is January 15th).
If you have any questions throughout the year, so please email or call Ashli Maddox, SD Mines Admissions Counselor at Ashli.Maddox@sdsmt.edu or 605.394.1608 | 877.877.6044.
Schedules are anticipated to be available on Parent Vue/Student Vue starting on Wednesday, July 26th. Every effort was made to honor all course requests. However, students and families are reminded that there may be some course requests which were not possible due to time conflicts with required classes, not enough students enrolled for the class to be held, did not meet the prerequisite, or was not recommended as appropriate placement.
As noted in the LSW Course Planning Guide, schedule change requests will be made on a limited basis if they meet one of the following criteria:
- Senior needs a class for graduation and/or college entrance requirement
- Student doesn’t meet the prerequisite
- Student has already received credit for course
- Student has a See Counselor that needs to be replaced.
If a request meets one of the above criteria, then the Schedule Change Request Form 2017-18 may be completed and submitted to the Main Office for counselors and administrators to review prior to the start of the 2017-18 school year. The Schedule Change Request Form 2017-18 is available by clicking here or stopping by the LSW Main Office.
Please remember that the Counseling Center is currently closed for the summer and counselors will be checking email on an intermittent basis throughout the summer break.
