2020 Coolidge Scholarship Application

The 2020 Coolidge Scholarship application is now live. The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that may be used by recipients for undergraduate study at any accredited college or university in the United States. Any high school junior who plans on enrolling in college in the fall of 2021 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply (unfortunately current high school seniors are not eligible to apply).

Coolidge Scholars are selected based primarily on academic excellence. Secondary criteria include: an interest in public policy, an appreciation for and understanding of the values President Coolidge championed, as well as humility and service. The scholarship application, along with additional information, can be accessed on the scholarship site: www.coolidgescholars.org. Please note the deadline is 5:00 PM EST, Thursday, January 16, 2020. Boston University’s Merit-Based Scholarships

Interested students with outstanding academic records and strong leadership skills are encouraged to apply for Boston University’s merit-based scholarships.

  • Trustee Scholarship – Boston University’s most prestigious full-tuition scholarship recognizes extraordinary academic performance and leadership ability. Students must submit one additional essay with their application for admission.
  • Presidential Scholarship – This four-year, $25,000 scholarship is awarded to students with exceptional academic achievements. No additional application materials are required—all students need to do to be considered is apply for admission by the scholarship deadline.

The application deadline for these scholarships is December 1, 2019.

Nebraska Patchwork Families Event

The Nebraska Patchwork Families will be holding an African American, Multiracial & Transracial Event at Belmont Community Learning Center on October 19th.  The schedule for the day will be  as follows:
10:00 – Introductions
11:00 – Parents will work with a speaker about interacting with the police, children will spend time talking about hair care and resources
11:45 – Parents will spend time talking about hair care and resources, children will do an interactive activity talking about their personal experiences with racism and microaggressions
12:30 – LUNCH!
1:00 – Parents will work with a speaker to talk about how to be an advocate, children will take a step class
2:00 – Large group/panel discussion about personal experiences, concerns, etc.
3:00 – End of the day

Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation Scholarship Program

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute awards more than $1 million in college scholarships to exceptional student leaders each year. High school seniors nationwide who demonstrate leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship are invited to apply for the 2020 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. This program annually provides college-bound students with $10,000 renewable scholarships – up to $40,000 total per recipient – and supports them as they lead and serve in college and beyond. Help put promising young leaders in the running to join our 10th class of Scholars.

Applications for the 2020 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program are accepted until Jan. 3, 2020. Additional information, eligibility requirements, and a link to the application are available online.
