This year’s theme, #WeAreTheChange, is focused on meeting students wherever they are on their paths. With support and guidance, every student possesses the power to do big things. At Nebraska, we’re all in this together.
Great leaders are made, shaped and developed over time. At the 2019-2020 Diversity Leadership Symposia, students will discover the many ways Nebraska can provide all the tools they’ll need to establish a strong foundation for success, from learning how to apply to college to engaging with community members on trending issues.
Additional details regarding these events and student nominations will be available soon.
By attending this event, students will be considered for the Emerging Leaders scholarship worth $8,000 in tuition over four years.

Macalester Multicultural Fly-In Program

Macalaster College’s 2019 Fall Sampler and Multicultural Fly-in Program will be November 7-9.

African American, Native American, Latino or Asian American students who are currently high school juniors and interested in learning about Macalester College’s rigorous liberal arts program may visit with their counselors about the nomination process for Macalester’s Multicultural Fly-In Program. To qualify for the travel stipend, students must be:

  • U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents
  • Unable to visit Macalester for financial reasons

The Nomination Form for each student by Monday September 9, 2019. Upon submission of this form, Macalester will send an email to the nominated student encouraging them to complete a short application.  As part of their application, students must also include a copy of their high school transcript through junior year, senior year schedule, and responses to short answer questions.

Because limited space exists for this program, preference will be given to students whose applications and transcripts are received by September 15, 2019. There is a $75 participation fee for those requiring airfare purchased by Macalester.

Macalester will review applications and notify students of our decisions on October 1st. They will then work with the selected students to make necessary travel arrangements.
