Joslyn Art Museum’s JAMbassadors program

The Joslyn Art Museum is currently accepting applications from high school students for the 2017-18 JAMbassadors program. JAMbassadors are high school volunteers who assist with youth classes, families and guests at public events, behind-the-scenes event preparations, etc. at the museum’s Criss Center for Education.

To apply, please complete the online application at by Wednesday, October 4th. Students who are accepted will need to complete an orientation at the museum on Saturday, October 14th from 1:30 – 11:30 am.

University of Notre Dame, University of Virginia, Washington University, Johns Hopkins, & Emory University Presentation

The University of Notre Dame, the University of Virginia, Washington University in St. Louis, Johns Hopkins and Emory University will hosting evening programs for prospective students. The universities will host a presentation for students and parents and then be available for individual conversation afterward.

Wesleyan University Hamilton Prize for Creativity

Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT offers the Wesleyan University Hamilton Prize for Creativity, which is a 4-year full-tuition scholarship established in honor of Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton writer, composer & lyricist * Class of 2002) and Thomas Kail (Hamilton Director * Class of 1999) . It is worth more than $200,000. Eligibility criteria includes the following:

  • Incoming first-year students’ work of creative written expression that is judged to best reflect the originality, artistry, and dynamism embodied in Broadway’s Hamilton
  • Recipient must be accepted to & enrolled full-time at Wesleyan University CT for the 2018-19 school year.
  • Completed applications must be received on or before January 1, 2018.

SCC Robotics Workshop

SCC will be hosting a one day Robotics Workshop where students will build and test a Vex Robotics Kit. Students will start from a group of electronic and mechanical parts and finish with a functional remote-controlled robot. Workshop dates include the following Wednesdays from 9 am to 2 pm at the Lincoln Campus:
