UNK Health Careers Fair

Wednesday, October 11th

Fine Arts Building, Recital Hall

Registration: 8:15 am – 8:50 am

Opening Session/ Event Begins: 9:00 am


Attendees should arrive and complete registration/check-in between 8:15 am and 8:50 am.  The event begins promptly at 9:00 am with an opening session.  This year will feature a panel of healthcare providers representing pediatric medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and more.  Following the opening panel, student groups will be rotating through three separate opportunities: Career Exploration Fair, UNMC Health Science Education Complex Information Session and a breakout session.

Over 30+ representatives from various healthcare professions will be sponsoring tables at the Career Exploration Fair.  A campus tour will be available at the conclusion of the day.  For more information regarding the day please visit www.unk.edu/healthcareersfair.

Lunch IS NOT included as part of the Health Careers Fair. However, lunch vouchers for The Market, located in the Nebraskan Student Union, will be available to students to purchase at a reduced price ($6.86) if the students are interested in having lunch on campus following the Fair.

The healthcare field is one of the largest growing career fields today and UNK offers over 20 different options for pre-professional training for a career in healthcare.  The healthcare industry is growing by leaps and bounds with new career opportunities and advancements in the traditional professions.  The UNK Health Careers Fair provides students with the opportunity to gather information and learn more about healthcare professions.

Pre-registration is appreciated and will expedite the check-in process the day of the Fair!

Students are encouraged to attend a College Fair this fall to meet with college reps.

Lincoln Area College Fair, Sunday, September 24, 1:00-3:00 p.m. – Southeast Community College, 8800 O Street.

Omaha Area College Fair, Sunday, October 1, 1:00-4:00 p.m. – University of Nebraska at Omaha Sapp Fieldhouse, 6001 Dodge St.

Educational Planning Programs. Those who can’t attend a College Fair are encouraged to attend an Educational Planning Program (EPP). These

Barcode Registration
Before students attend a College Fair or EPP, they should visit NebraskaCollegeFairs.org to register for a barcode, print it, or download it to their smartphone, and take it to the event so college reps can scan it.

UNL Financial Aid Reminders

Important Notes to Remember for UNL Applicants:
  • The NEBRASKA application for admission is now open.
  • NEBRASKA has already begun offering merit-based scholarships.
  • The FAFSA becomes available October 1, 2017 (encourage students to complete it by April 1, 2018, for priority consideration)
  • The new deadline for merit-based scholarships is March 1. We will accept test scores from the February 2018 test date (some individual scholarship programs may have earlier deadlines).
