ASVAB Test

LSW will be offering the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) on February 2nd. Students may register for this free assessment in the Counseling Center. The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students. Although it is a required assessment for students who plan to enter the military, the ASVAB is an excellent career assessment for any student who is exploring career options. Coolidge Scholarship

The Coolidge Schoalrship is a full-ride scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study. Any high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2018 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply. UNL’s DreamBIG Academy

Juniors are reminded that the sixth annual DreamBIG Academy (Develop, risk, Empower, Achieve, Maximize, Build, Innovate, Grow) will be held Sunday through Thursday, July 16-20 at UNL. The DreamBIG Academy provides diverse, upcoming high school seniors the opportunity to learn about the dynamic world of business and potential career opportunities at the College of Business Administration at UNL. It emphasizes leadership, networking skills, and success in the business world along with a variety of fun activities at no cost to students.

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Current high school juniors who expect to graduate in 2018
  • 2.5 or higher GPA
  • One of the following criteria
    • First-generation college student
    • Underrepresented identity
    • Federal guidelines for low income status or qualify for free or reduced lunch
    • Interested in business
