Nebraska Press Association Foundation Scholarship

The Nebraska Press Association Foundation scholarship applications for 2016-17 current high school seniors and college students are now available.

The Foundation will offer up to four total (high school and college) scholarships of $2,000 each. Preference will be given to Nebraska students who will be pursuing newspaper journalism education at a Nebraska college or university.

Omaha Storm Chasers – Robinson Athletic Scholarship

The Omaha Storm Chasers is awarding the Chasers Charities – Robinson Athletic Scholarship ($500) to one male and one female recipient in tribute to Jackie Robinson. Eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • US Citizen or permanent resident
  • Reside in Sarpy, Douglas, Cass, Lancaster or Pottawattamie county
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA on 4.0 scale
  • African American/Black student-athlete
  • High school senior or graduate planning to enroll full-time in a undergrad program at accredited post-secondary institution
  • Deadline: March 24, 2017

Along with the completed application that can be accessed by clicking here, applicants must also submit current transcript, recommendation letter from principal, coach, or guidance counselor, & statement of how/why sports have been important in their lives.

LIBA Free Enterprise Scholarship

LIBA (Lincoln Independent Business Association) is offering 13 $1,000 scholarship in 2017. Eight of the scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors and five are designated for dependents of LIBA Member business owners & employees; or high school seniors employed by a LIBA member.
