AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps

AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) is accepting applications. They are looking for individuals who have a passion for service, want to make a difference and get the experience of a lifetime. Applicants should be men and women ages 18-24 (or will be 18 by the start of the program) who are enthusiastic and hard-working about joining the team as corps members.

AmeriCorps NCCC is a full-time, 10-month, residential, national service program in which young adults – all 18 to 24 years old – serve nationwide each year. The NCCC program oversees two service tracks – NCCC and FEMA Corps – and members in these programs serve in teams of 8-12 on 3-7 service projects during their service.

NCCC members serve on projects that address critical needs related to natural and other disasters, infrastructure improvement, environmental stewardship and conservation, energy conservation, and urban and rural development.

FEMA Corps is for young adults who want to gain professional skills in emergency management while serving with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) staff on disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.

During their service, members are provided housing, food, uniforms, and the equipment that they will need to be successful in the field. They will receive a modest bi-weekly stipend for personal expenses and if they successfully complete the program, they are awarded a $5,775 Education Award. This award can be used for future tuition costs or to pay back student loans.

Graduates of AmeriCorps NCCC and FEMA Corps gain marketable skills and receive preferential hiring status for over 200 Employers of National Service which includes organizations such as Disney, Comcast, American Red Cross, United Way, Arizona State University, and the National Park Service.
