The Governor’s Youth Advisory Council is currently accepting 4 members, in grades 9-12. If you are a student who wants to be involved in politics, this would be a great opportunity.

- Meets: 4 times a year
Members are appointed from all areas of the state. Students are from 9th to 12th grade. Governor will chair the council, ranging from ages 14 to 18. Youth will come from a variety of family backgrounds, students with a variety of learning levels; the group will represent young people with diverse racial and cultural backgrounds. NE Children and Families Foundation works with the current members to conduct interviews and scores applicants to recommend names for appointments. Meets quarterly to address issues relevant to youth. They review legislative bills that relate to issues impacting youth and meet with the Governor to discuss these issues.
