Women in STEM Honors Program 
Housed within the Center of Excellence for Women in STEM, the Bay Path University Women in STEM Honors Program (WiSH) offers a four year curriculum consisting of integrated and advanced study and research for dedicated future women scientists. Within this program students will experience hands-on project-based research and be able to link science to real world applications. WiSH uniquely prepares women to not only enter scientific fields and excel within them, but to truly impact them. Students also receive great scholarship support. WiSH students receive a renewable annual $2,500 scholarship!

Intensive English Program
OBU offers the Intensive English Program for students who would like to improve their English language proficiency in a variety of contexts. With a focus on English comprehension through practice in reading, writing, conversation and listening, the program enables students to succeed at English-speaking colleges, universities, or professional environments and meet the English qualifications required for admission to OBU. Students must be at least 16 years of age, have completed secondary school and qualify as non-native speakers of English in order to apply.

The Service Learning Experience
The Service Learning Experience is one of the pillars of the Holy Cross Experience which will help students gain the competence to see and the courage to act. This phrase, from the Constitutions of the Brothers and Priests of Holy Cross, points to the connection between education and action. Thus, the Service Learning Experience is focused not just on performing charity or on studying ideals of Christian love. Rather, students gain valuable self-knowledge about the ways in which they are called to serve in the world.

The M.A.R.C.H and S.I.S.T.E.R.S Program

M.A.R.C.H and S.I.S.T.E.R.S are programs that offer mentoring, advising and cultural development programs. The goal of these programs is to encourage retention of minority students by providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to be successful in a competitive academic environment. The programs also offer guidance in the form of tutorial assistance and workshops to aid students in graduating and going on to become influential citizens of the global community

Serving to Learn & Learning to Serve
Service Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities. Every semester, a dozen courses across the curriculum enable Quinnipiac students to reach out to the surrounding community. Class time is balanced with a major assignment performed at a community agency, followed by personal and academic reflection on the experience.

Structured Learning Assistance
The SLA Program grew out of a need to reach large numbers of students who would not normally seek academic assistance voluntarily. We discovered courses that students would traditionally struggle with in their programs. As an effort to help students be successful, we sought to provide a method of direct transference of study skills and learning methods to those content areas. Research literature indicated that students should be taught study skills that will apply directly to the content area. The SLA program devised a way to do that.

President’s McDonogh Lecture Series
The President’s McDonogh Lecture Series brings scholars to campus who have gained prominent attention for their work with multicultural education and diversity issues. Speakers invited to campus for this occasion are asked to participate in a variety of events that can include a campus lecture, student leadership development, course teach-in, and discussion with administration and interested faculty. The McDonogh Lecture is always informative, engaging, and often inspirational.

Helping Youth Through Personal Empowerment (HYPE)
In partnership with many community-based organizations, K students lead unique weekly reading, writing, and math programs, as well as arts, language, health/wellness, and environmental education initiatives. The HYPE program at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home is dedicated to promoting restorative, community based justice by building meaningful relationships with the youth in the juvenile home and through advocacy within the Kalamazoo community.

Center for Community Service Initiatives
The Center for Community Service Initiatives (CCSI) is Barry University’s community engagement clearinghouse, providing programs, resources, and services that facilitate University engagement with communities at the local, regional, national, and global levels. Through community service, service-learning, community-based research, community-engaged scholarship, internships, practicum and field placements, and advocacy projects, Barry students, faculty, and staff collaborate with community partners to meet educational, social, economic, cultural, and environmental challenges.
