LSW’s Financial Aid Night for seniors and their families will be held on Tuesday, November 17th at 6:30 pm in the Auditorium. College admission, types of financial aid, scholarships and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) completion will be discussed during this hour-long presentation, which is presented by Anders Peterson from EducationQuest.
Seniors/Juniors (or their parents/guardians) who attend this EducationQuest presentation will have the opportunity to win one of three $500 scholarships that will be awarded to eligible students: Eligibility requirements include:
- Verification of enrollment at a non-profit college in Nebraska
- Currently a junior/senior attending a Nebraska High School student
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Parent/Guardian can register on their student’s behalf
- Application details will be provided only at the Financial Aid Program

Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College “Meet the Dean” webinar will take place on Monday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Schreyer Honors College Dean Brady, current SHC Scholars and our Admissions team will be online to visit with students and parents and talk about the benefits of Penn State and the Honors College. Pre-registration is not required.

Central Plains Center for Services, through a contracted partnership with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, administers the Education and Training Voucher (ETV) Program. This program provides financial assistance for tuition, fees and books, as well as one-on-one support, for current and former state wards to attend college. Participation in the Next Generation Leadership Summit is available to all students participating in one or more of the Nebraska Career and Technical Student Organizations in 9th – 12th grade. The Next Generation Leadership Summit is scheduled to be held January 25, 2016, at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska from 8:30am – 3:30pm.
Scholarships will be awarded during Coe College Scholars Weekend on Saturday, November 14. The deadline to register is October 26. Students must apply and be admitted unconditionally to attend. Omaha World Herald/Kearney Hub Scholarship:
The Omaha World Herald/Kearney Hub scholarship is UNK’s most prestigious scholarship. High School Seniors with an ACT of 30 or higher, and who rank in the top 10% of their class, are eligible to apply. The first step is to apply and be admitted to UNK. Then, the student should complete the application to the Honors program. UNK will select a number of finalists to come to campus for interviews (typically the first week of December). The Omaha World Herald/Kearney Hub scholarship covers tuition, university fees, books, room and board, for four years.

Kearney Health Opportunities Program (KHOP):
The Kearney Health Opportunities Program (KHOP) is a cooperative program between the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). The purpose of the program is to recruit and educate students from rural Nebraska who are committed to returning to rural Nebraska to practice healthcare. This program represents a commitment and dedication to the education of Nebraskans and quality health care for citizens of the state. Students must be admitted to UNK and complete the KHOP application as well.

Freshmen Scholarship Deadline extended to March 1, 2016
UNK has extended our freshmen scholarship deadline to March 1st, 2016. Your high school seniors can take February ACT and it will count for the new March 1 freshmen scholarship deadline.
