Project Homeless Connect Lincoln will be held on Tuesday, September 29th at Pinnacle Bank Arena from 10 AM to 3 PM. This is a one day, one stop, opportunity to get the services you need for free! Below is a partial listing of services that will be provided.

  • Mental health services
  • Flu and other vaccines
  • Social services
  • Legal assistance
  • Substance use services
  • On-site bike repair
  • Income tax preparation
  • Veterans Services
Child care will be provided. Some services may require income verification. Bring W-2s, if available for tax preparation.

Midwest Exchange Program Scholarships

The Midwest Student Exchange Program has expanded to include all majors at the University of Kansas. It is one of KU’s renewable scholarships for nonresidents, making it an excellent resource for families and their students coming in from out of state. It is available to students from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
 
If students have a 24+ ACT (1090+ SAT math/critical reading) and a 3.25+ GPA on a 4.0 scale, the award – $40,356 ($10,089 a year) – is theirs. It’s that simple!

Creative Arts’ Adobe After Effects Class

Adobe After Effects is a digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application used in video production. In this introduction to After Effects, learn to build visual effects including motion graphics and typographic effects for video. Bring your own laptop and software, or use one of our Macintosh computers!

“Dear Grandchild” Scholarship Contest

The 2015 “Dear Grandchild” letter contest is now open from Nebraska’s 529 College Savings Plan. NEST’s “Contests & Scholarships” webpage states:

Write a letter to your grandchild, great niece or nephew, explaining your hopes and dreams for them and why higher education will be important. Share it with us between September 9, 2015 and October 13, 2015 for a chance to be drawn as one of six (6) winners of a $1,000 scholarship. You won’t have to choose a favorite; you can divide equally among up to four children.

On Saturday, October 31, 2015, the University of Nebraska’s Engineering Department is offering an engineering open house to allow students the opportunity to learn about the programs available through UNL in an in-depth and hands-on setting. This day includes information sessions, tours, and Q & A panels on topics ranging from student involvement to financial aid to internship/co-op opportunities and much more.
