Sally G. Wysong Memorial Scholarship Update
This scholarship was established in memory of Sally Wysong by her family and friends. Sally an early childhood education advocate and owner and operator of the Meadowlane Nursery School served the Lincoln community as a Board of Education member from 1991 to 1999. This scholarship will be awarded to graduates of any Lincoln public high school for use for their junior and senior years of post-secondary education. The scholarship will be awarded to one graduating senior each year pursuing post-secondary education in the field of Early Childhood/Elementary Education. This scholarship will be paid to the recipient during the recipient’s junior and senior collegiate years of their post-secondary education providing the recipient continues in the Early Childhood/Elementary Education field of study.

The VocRehab Program and SCC are working together to provide an Auto Tech Training Program. Please contact Paige Rose, LSW’s VocRehab representative if you are interested in learning more about this opportunity. Participants need to be 18 years old, have a current driver’s license and a clean driving record. An information night is scheduled for April 3, 2013 at 6-7 pm at the VR Nebraska Office, located at 3901 N. 27th St.
UNK’s Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity is proud to announce its annual Pi Kappa Alpha SLAG Scholarships with up to $1,000 being awarded this year to incoming freshmen. Winners of this scholarship are not required to join the Fraternity. Applications for 2013 are due by July 1st. Applicants will be judged based on the four cornerstones of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity: Scholars, Leaders, Athletes, and Gentlemen (SLAG). Selected applicants will be required to attend a follow-up interview conducted by members of the executive council (in person if possible, by phone if not). The winner of the scholarship will be announced on August 1st. The scholarship is issued directly to the students. The online application is located at http://bit.ly/Y00dl6.
