Mrs. Ward–6th Grade Humanities kward4@lps.org
Greetings Moore Students and Families!
My name is Kailah Ward, and I teach 6th grade Humanities at Moore Middle School.  I feel so honored and excited to be a part of this incredible journey as Moore Middle School continues to build its Mountain Lion spirit, and I cannot wait to meet all of the Moore students and families.
I grew up in a small town in central South Dakota.  After graduating from high school, I decided to tackle the big city life and completed my studies at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. However, I knew that I wanted to move back closer to my family after college. To me, Lincoln is the perfect combination of big city living with a small town feel.  My husband, Josh, was born and raised in Lincoln. Our household is very busy these days in the best sort of way.  Our son, Jaxan, turned 4 years old this year–he loves any sport that involves a ball, trucks of all kinds, and books, books, books. JoLeigh, our daughter, is a full-spirited 2 year old.  She enjoys talking, reading, climbing, and loving on her brother and puppy. These two have taught us so much about the importance of family and cherishing every moment of every day!
Words cannot describe how much I value our community here at Moore Middle School.  Prior to teaching at Moore, I taught 6th grade Language Arts at Culler Middle School for 6 years, and served as an Instructional Coach at Culler. I am so thrilled to be able to join the staff, students, and families of Moore Middle School as we establish our community as Mountain Lions, and I embark on my 9th year as an educator. Being an educator with Lincoln Public Schools is truly a remarkable opportunity, and this year will be full of many milestones that I cannot wait to experience together!
