1. First They Killed My Father Final Reflection: Today we wrote letters to the author, Loung Ung, describing what we learned from the book.  The assignment and pre-writing graphic organizer can be found here (link).  This is a summative grade and is worth 15 points.

2. Honoring Our Ancestors Essay Introduction:  This is a long term summative assignment that we started yesterday.  Take a moment and read through the criteria, rubric, and attention getter tips.  Today and tomorrow we will focus on building ideas and starting the introduction.  We’ll also read a sample essay.  We’ll spend Friday and parts of next week in the computer lab typing.  This assignment is the final assessment for the First They Killed My Father unit, and the due date is next Friday, 9/26.
