Final week of 2014!!

It is hard to believe but we only have a few more days before an extended winter break and the end of Quarter 2!  This coming week will be very busy at school. Below you will find the updates for the week and what to expect!

Math: We will be finishing up with chapters 12 and 13, measuring with customary and metric units for weight, length, and capacity; telling time, and reading a thermometer. The chapter test will be on Thursday. We will be taking our 2nd DCA on Tuesday.

Writing: We are prepping for the NeSA writing which will be sometime towards the end of January. We will be writing more prompts, and we will do one this week.

Reading: We will take our Unit 3 Assessment on Wednesday and Thursday. There is another reading passage due on Friday.  Students will be practicing their grammar work this week in class. Expect the grammar packet to come home to practice before the grammar section of the test on Thursday.

Spelling: No Spelling this week!

Science: Last week the class voted to move up the DCA to Tuesday so they could have less assessments on Thursday.  The study guide for this is on the blog. The test will be tomorrow afternoon.

Book Reports are due this Friday. We will also have our Book Carnival, where students can use their tokens to play each others’ games. Students can bring a game from home or create their own carnival game! They can give prizes for their games but please refrain from using candy as prizes.
