Michelle Story-Kohl

Screen shot 2013-10-28 at 9.22.27 AMMichelle has been with Lincoln Public Schools since 1997. She began her teaching career at Elliott Elementary where she spent 8 years teaching ELL before moving on to West Lincoln then Holmes Elementary. She has been an ELL Teacher Leader since 2008.

Michelle graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1995. She first worked with ELL students during her student teaching experience at Everett Elementary. She enjoyed the experience so much that she returned to school the following year to acquire an endorsement in ELL.

During her childhood, Michelle lived in five different states, two different countries, and nine different cities. During her teaching career, she taught in 3 schools, at the fairgrounds (in two buildings), in 11 different classrooms, and had one school change after the first three weeks of school.

Michelle enjoys partnering with many teachers across the district as they support their ELL students’ academic language development. Michelle is available to work with teachers and staff at Beattie, Belmont, Campbell, Fredstrom, Maxey, McPhee, Norwood Park, Pershing, Randolph, Riley, Saratoga, and Sheridan.
