Holly Tracy

Screen shot 2013-10-28 at 9.22.02 AMHolly Tracy grew up in Fairbury, a little town about an hour south of Lincoln. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to complete her undergraduate work in elementary and early childhood education. Holly returned to UNL to complete her English as a Second Language endorsement and obtain her Master’s of Arts in Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education with an emphasis in language, literacy, and culture.

Holly developed a love of ELL students while working at Elliott Elementary as a student teacher. When Holly started with Lincoln Public Schools in August of 2002, as an ExCITE teacher for Norwood Park Elementary, the diverse make up of her classroom prompted her to return to UNL to get an ELL endorsement. She moved to Holmes Elementary to teach ELL in August of 2005. Holly also became the ELL team leader at Holmes, a position that afforded her the chance to be more actively involved with all of the ELL students at Holmes, as well as work closely with teachers throughout the building.

Holly received the amazing opportunity to work as an Elementary ELL Teacher Leader in August of 2010. She works with the staff and administration at Adams, Arnold, Calvert, Cavett, Clinton, Elliott, Hill, Humann, Kloefkorn, Prescott, Rousseau, and Zeman. Holly has had the chance to develop valuable partnerships with many teachers across these buildings and looks forward to continuing this work.

Through it all, Holly has worked in two portables, one classroom, the “South Site,” and one “garden level” room. She marvels at the desk she now has at LPSDO and the ample filing cabinet space. She is a big fan of Netflix, good friends, and is in love with Justin Timberlake. She is married to a wonderful man named Michael and has two adorable boys, Cooper and Emmett.
