Coming up this week! {12/9-12/13}

It’s already the middle of December! We have a lot of fun learning to look forward to this week!

We are starting Unit 5! This unit is all about Wonders of Nature.  Our essential question is “What do living things need to grow?” Our letter this week is Hh. Our high-frequency word this week is my.  Our vocabulary words are: require, plant, harmful, soak, crowd. Our category words this week are size words. Our grammar skill for the week is pronouns. We will be testing on our high-frequency words soon. Please have your child practice writing/spelling the following words at home: like, you, do, go, and, a, & to.

This week we will be continuing in Unit 3. We will be focusing on showing tens and ones, as well as working with shapes. We will have homework on Tuesday this week!

Writer’s Workshop…
This week we are continuing Quarter 2 writing! We are also going to continue working on our writing skills as we write in our Elf Journal each day. This is great practice for us to work on capital letters, finger spaces, punctuation, and handwriting! We are becoming writers and it is so exciting to see!

We are continuing our Friendship unit this week!  We are learning so much about what it means to be a good friend!

Star of the Week…
We are excited to learn all about Brooklyn this week!

Don’t forget! Library day this week is Monday and Thursday!
Don’t forget! We’ll be taking our MAP Test on Tuesday, December 10th.
Don’t forget! R.E.D. Folders are due on Friday!

We have so much to learn and look forward to this week! Thanks for partnering with us to make this a successful year in Kindergarten!
