Holocaust Poetry Finalists

The Dawes Middle School eighth graders in Ms. Pappas’ English classes have been working on writing holocaust poetry by reflecting on what they have learned the past couple of weeks. After reading through a lot of great poems Pappas had to come to choose 10 poems to go into the Holocaust Commemoration Book. The following 10 students were chosen for the opportunity to be in the book.

Congratulations to Cecilia Chada, Sazoun Grayer, Thi Huynh, Zanea Nguyen, Alyssa Kolb, Morgan Strodtman, Brandon Fountain-Clark, Rachel Sams, Paige Miller, and Michaela Fransisco.

When Thi Huynh, one of the finalist was asked the question of how she felt when she found out she responded, “I felt very proud of my self, it made me very happy.”

The Dawes Staff is very proud of the finalist and hopes that they continue persuing their skill.
