Commenting is ON. (I’m officially pulling your string.)
I’ve been asked a number of times in the recent past why I do not have comments on my blog. My answer is always the same – I am not against comments, I am just using a system (tumblr) that does not include the capacity to have commenting.
Fast forward to today when I come across DISQUS. DISQUS is a “portable” commenting system. Basically, I set up a discussion thread on their website and have inserted it into my tumblog. Viola! Instant comments.
You should now have the ability to comment on any post to my tumblog. Score!
Technically speaking, I love this solution because I could create a number of different discussion boards and insert them into different blogs I manage, and have all of the commenting in one spot. Or, If I leave one platform and move to another, I can bring the comments along for the ride. Bonus!
Feeling like this is an idea whose time is coming…
