Next week starts our phase II of remote learning. Below is information about what remote learning will look like and how you can access it.
These daily lessons will be broadcast Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on LNK Education TV (Allo Channel 23, Charter Spectrum Channel 1303, Windstream Kinetic Channel 1080). The daily lessons will also be posted on the LPS Remote Learning site and available for families to access at their convenience.
There are 5 components of each daily lesson:
- Large Group (including Question of the Day)
- Small Group (using Intentional Teaching Cards)
- Read Aloud (using the Book Discussion Cards)
- Social Emotional Learning (using Second Step)
- Gross Motor (using Mighty Minutes and Physical Intentional Teaching Cards)
These lessons will be 30 minute in length. They do not have to be done all at once. They are intended to be a starting point for students learning and should not be the only learning taking place that day. You can always pause the remote learning videos if you are watching online and do them when it is convenient in your daily schedule. Please expand and take the suggestions that are provided during these lessons. If you have questions on how to do this your teacher is ready to help.
Starting Monday, April 6th, Ms. Jamie and Mrs. Losey will be contacting you via phone to set up a weekly remote visit with each of you. Our phone numbers will show up as blocked therefore we would like you to set up a time for us to call so you know to be expecting us. The links for signing up are below. If you do not sign up for a time, we will just attempt to make contact.
Our weekly remote visits will be conducted via zoom (see pdf below), phone call, or email. When we call you next week, we will ask your preference for our weekly remote visit.
Special Education teachers will also be in contact with you next week. Their numbers will show up as blocked as well. If you would prefer to receive communication through email with these teachers please send them a message to their email.
Ms. Jessica (Resource Teacher) firstname.lastname@example.org
Ms. Emily (Speech and Language Pathologist) email@example.com
If you did not know already Ms. Emily Lawrence joined us in January as our Speech and Language Pathologist as Ms. Bailey moved out of state. See below for a intro from Ms. Emily.
Hello, I am Emily Lawrence, and I am new to LPS as of January 15th, 2020. I have been a Speech Pathologist for approximately 20+years. I have a Master of Science degree in Clinical Speech Pathology and Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. I am originally from California, but I was recently employed in Delaware. Moving to Nebraska has been a very positive experience. I look forward to continuing to work with your child and celebrating and being a part of their progress.
We also want to remind you that you can access online activities and challenges provided by LPS Library Services. At the top of the page you can access some fun activities on the preschool page and there is also a page for read alouds. On the read aloud page there is now a link for Preschool/Early Childhood. All books on this page can be accessed without a password! YAY See if you can find the books we have read. 🙂
Thank you for all your patience as we figure this out together. We miss you all and can’t wait to talk next week!
Ms. Losey and Ms. Jamie
