About Me

Hello!  Welcome to my website.  I hope the information you find here is helpful.  My name is Beth Topp and this will be my fifth year at Kooser Elementary teaching first grade.  I grew up in Lincoln and attended Lincoln Public Schools my whole life.  I have known that I wanted to be a teacher since I was in first grade.  My teacher made learning fun and showed her love for her students.  My mother is also a first grade teacher – like mother like daughter!
Family is valuable to me.  I have two older siblings whom I deeply love.  My brother lives in California, and my sister is in Lincoln.  I am married to a wonderful man named Nick Topp.   We enjoy fishing, camping, walking, and spending time with our niece, Jordyn.  My first nephew will join the family this November.  I LOVE being an aunt.

We love to travel.
I attended college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and am a HUGE Husker fan!  I am definitely proud to be a Nebraskan and enjoy Nebraska athletics.  Through the University, I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education.  I also received my master’s degree in teaching, learning, and teacher education with a minor in mathematics.
Nick and I enjoy cheering on the Huskers.
Parent communication is very important to me, so I will try to update this site with valuable information.  However, please don’t hesitate to ever contact me for any reason.  My email address is btopp@lps.org.  Together, we can provide outstanding education for your child.
