About

This year I am  starting my 11th year at Lux teaching vocal music classes. Prior to Lux, I taught General Music classes at West Lincoln Elementary for 29 years.

I have lived in Lincoln for many years and have gone through the Lincoln Public Schools for my education.  I attended Calvert Elementary….then on to Pound Junior High….and graduated from Lincoln East High.  Nebraska Wesleyan University was my destination for college which led me to receiving my teaching certificate.

Outside of school, I am involved in many other activities.  I am Director of Music at South Gate United Methodist Church, which means I plan music for services and make sure it happens.  I direct and accompany the Youth Choir and Mens choir, direct the Handbell Choir, sing in an adult choir, and play organ/piano for services.

I also have a private piano studio of students, which has been a part of my life since high school.  It is such a joy to see students find success at something that can be a lifelong enjoyment for them.

When time allows, I love to scrapbook and create cards–my biggest passion next to teaching music! It is my time to relax, use some of my creativity, and be with friends.

Here at Lux, my classes will be filled with movement, lots of singing, and learning music theory.  I want all students to learn how to feel comfortable using their singing voice.  Music is something that can bring a lifetime of enjoyment!

I created this site for parents and students to know about important events and assignments during the school year.

Please check it often for updates, etc.
