11/30

We finished the Constitution power point today and then completed some charts to help with understanding. The students began working on their study guide in preparation for our test.

The Test is next Thursday 12/6 AND we have a vocabulary Quest (bigger than a quiz smaller than a test) next Wed. 12/5.

11/19/12

With testing behind us it is on to our new unit 8.1.4 Building a Government. Today we watched the last segment of PBS series “Liberty” called “Are we to be a Nation?” It showed the students some early problems of our nation and the need for a stronger central government, but not too strong that is why the delegates that wrote the new Constitution put limits on Federal powers. The students filled out a video guide as they watched. This video guide goes in their notebook.

11/12-11/16

Since we each have classes and only one video we will each do something different the first three days, all getting us ready for the tests. One day we will finish the Revolution power point. One day we will watch “The Story of Us: Revolution” by the history channel. One day we will do a notebook check and review for the tests.

Thursday 11/15 The District Common Assessment

Friday 11/16 Our BIG Unit test.

Encourage your student (OR Motivate Yourself! ) to study.

11/8-11/9

We finished up the Declaration power point and did a number of activities on understanding the Declaration of Independence.

Students completed a practice DCA and the Declaration Matrix where they matched sayings from the Declaration to what it means. They rewrote the preamble to the Declaration and looked at the grievances against the king.

Students were also given a study guide for our tests that will take place next Thursday 11/15 and Friday 11/16
