We start this unit looking at indentured servants in America. The reasons why they would come to the new world, the hardships they endured, and what they got if they completed their term of service. We will read letters home from indentured servants one from Richard Frethorne (Jamestown 1623) and one from Elizabeth Sprigs (Maryland 1854).
