Freshman Choir

Freshman Choir is the foundation of the vocal music program at East High School. Open to any interested 9th grade students, Freshman Choir provides students with the proper building blocks for becoming an outstanding singer-musician and meets 2nd period each day. Topics covered in Freshman Choir include healthy vocal technique, sight-singing through solfége, finding comfort through the voice change, and singing music in a variety of genres- from pop to classical and everything in between. Freshman Choir performs at concerts throughout the academic year and are prepared for auditions for upperclassmen ensembles for the following year.

If enrollment is significant, Freshman Choir splits into 9th Grade Men’s Choir and 9th Grade Women’s Choir.
