Final Consonants

If your child struggles with final consonants, they leave off the last sound of words.  For example, he might say “uh” instead of “up” or “so” instead of “soap”.  This is common in little kids, but a child should be using final consonants by age 3.

* set up an obstacle course and work on “hop“, “up“, “down“, “on

*gather items from around the house and put them in a bag.  Pull one out and ask “Which room does this belong in?”  The child can say living room, my room, mom’s room, bathroom, kitchen, basement…etc
