Coach Finley has been in charge of the LSW wrestling program since its inception in 2002.  During that time, the Silver Hawks have racked up over 200 dual victories and have had 105 state qualifiers and won 42 state medals in its short history.  They are nine-time LPS Champions and have won the six of the last seven city titles.

The Silver Hawks boast three state champions:  Justin Ferguson (’08), Kenny Martin (’13), and Connor Clanton (’17). Ferguson holds the all-time Class A records of 138 nearfalls in a season.  Martin attended Wartburg College in Waverly, IA and was a two-time National Champion/three time All-American at 149 lbs.

Before coming to Southwest, coach Finley spent five seasons at Omaha Skutt Catholic as an assistant, where the Sky Hawks won five consecutive Class B state championships.

Coach Finley wrestled at Fremont High School, where he was a state tournament qualifier, a four year letter winner, team captain, and a member of the Academic All-State Team.  After high school, he attended Doane College, where he graduated in 1995 with a B.A. in German and History with an emphasis on secondary education.  He earned his M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College in 2001.

Coach Finley and his wife Kristen have two children, Morgan and Logan.

Terry Terry Morrow, Assistant Coach

Coach Morrow wrestled at Milford High School and graduated from there in 1990.  He was a three time state qualifier and placed 5th at 105 lbs. his senior season.  Upon graduation, he joined the United States Navy and spent four years with the world-famous VA/VFA-105 Gunslingers working on the A-7 Corsair and the F/A-18 Hornet as an Aviation Electrician.  After his service, he was hired at Duncan Aviation in 1999 and is still employed there.

He coached on a volunteer basis at Malcom High School from 2006-2007.  After fierce back and forth contract negotiations, he was hired at LSW and has been with the program since 2007.  He and his wife Kristi have two sons, Riley and Jaxon.

Connor Connor Carstens, Assistant Coach

Connor begins his fifth season with the LSW program and first as a varsity assistant.  Connor is a former Silver Hawk (’12) and was a two time conference champion and state Runner-Up in 2011.  Connor holds the all time record for match points in a career at LSW with 1,104.  He is also in the top 10 all time at LSW in wins, pins, team points, and overall winning percentage.  He was named to the All-City team three times, was a four year letterwinner, and was named to the Academic All-Conference and All-State teams.
