O (Opener): Period 6 defined vocabulary seen in Jason’s Gold for WOW 3.  Afterwords, students completed sentences, using personal experiences or prior knowledge.

ML (Mini-Lesson): Ms. A read aloud Chapter 13 from Jason’s Gold, while students followed along.

C (Core Lesson): Students collaborated with their T.P.S. partners to complete the IRG (Interactive Reading Guide) handout over “The Klondike Gold Rush”, “The Mastiff, Gentle Giant”, and “Mounties and Their Dogs” from Gold Rush Dogs.
