Welcome to a new school year.  The transition from 5th to 6th grade can be both thrilling and scary.  Please make sure that you keep the lines of communication open and that you ask a lot of questions. I want to keep it a smooth transition for both students and parents.

The Purpose of this site is to keep you informed on a weekly basis of things going on in my class.  You will find a class syllabus, weekly assignments and a testing calendar.  I will try to inform you of our tests a week ahead of time, so that you can prepare.

I love teaching using a lot of cooperative learning.  This means that your child will be working in a team of students during daily practice.  They will learn how to communicate with each other, work together to solve problems, and learn to help their peers.  Studies have shown that we learn more when we teach others, so this is a huge part of working in a team.  Nobody will be left out, because my designs of working together will require work on all group members…so no sliding by!

With the use of our new Google Chromebooks this year, students will be using both Google classroom, and an app where students can do their daily homework…You don’t even need the internet!

Please always let me know if you have any questions.  You can call me at school at 402-436-1213 or email me at tcodr@lps.org.   I look forward to teaching your child and working with you this school year.
