TCA Announcements for Week of April 18

From Director, Dr. Hohensee:

There are four weeks remaining at TCA this school year. Juniors and seniors are reminded to do your absolute best to earn the best grade possible on your college transcripts.  Students must earn a college cumulative GPA of 2.0 (after 12 credit hours) to remain in Good Academic Standing and be eligible for financial aid and scholarships next year at TCA or the college of your choice.  Your high school transcript is soon forgotten after your high school graduation, but your college transcript may follow you the rest of your life as you continue your post-secondary college work and apply for employment throughout your career.  Finish strong by meeting class deadlines and preparing appropriately for final exams and projects.

TCA will not be in session on Tuesday, April 19 due to LPS ACT Testing at high schools.

From Mrs. Lohmeyer, TCA School Counselor:

Attention TCA seniors attending Southeast Community College this summer or fall:  SCC Admissions Representatives will meet with your Pathway the between April 25 and May 6 to make sure your admissions file is up to date and you are ready to register for summer or fall college classes.  See Mrs. Lohmeyer for more information.

Current TCA juniors will register for their Fall, 2016 TCA/SCC classes the week of April 25.

TCA students and parents are reminded to research area college websites for summer programs to help with your career and college planning.

SCC is hosting a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) and Medication Aide Fair on Monday, May 9, 11:30-1:30 at the SCC Continuing Education Center, 68th & O Streets.  TCA students seeking summer jobs should consider attending.
