This is Lincoln Public School’s Summer Technology Program Staff page. Below you can know some information on staff that is part of Summer Technology Program. This amazing group of people take time out of their summer schedules to make STP what it is.

 

Mr. Brent Jarosz, Program Coordinator

Mr. Jarosz is in his 4th year as Coordinator for Lincoln Public School’s Summer Technology Program. Mr. Jarosz enjoys seeing new and old faces showing excitement for being a part of STP. He is also the one to go to if anyone has questions or recommendation for STP. He also teachers a few classes during STP. During the school year Mr. Jarosz is a teacher and instructional coach at Bryan Community Focus Program.

 

Ms. Bobbi Roesler, Executive Secretary

Ms. Roesler is secretary of Arts & Humanities during the school year and during the summer she joins STP. Ms. Roesler handles our registrations and signing up for classes. She is a key part in making sure STP runs smoothly during the summer.

 

Dr. Kent Steen, Teacher & Curriculum Specialist for Computer Science

Dr. Steen loves teaching at STP as it gives students as chance to dig deeper into areas that they may not have time for during the regular school year. Dr. Steen has taught STP courses for two decades and loves getting to see new and repeat students each summer! He is also an avid gamer, juggler, and community theater actor.

 

Ms. Caitlin Mentzer, Teacher

I am currently the Elementary Instructional Technology Facilitator for Lincoln Public Schools. I work in the curriculum department to support technology integration in our elementary curriculum and assist with running professional development. I also facilitate and work with our instructional technology coaches who work in our schools to improve instruction and to integrate technology in the classroom. Prior to this position I taught a class called creative expressions to all students at Kooser Elementary School. I am a Lincoln native. I graduated high school from Lincoln Northeast and I have degrees from UNL and Nebraska Wesleyan. In my free time I like to play volleyball, go to garage sales, and to spend time with my dog, Barney.

 

Mr. Todd Sievers, Teacher

Mr. Sievers has been involved in computers for as long as he can remember. When he was teaching 4th grade, schools finally got some computers in the media center, he would take his students in there at least weekly and he made sure they knew how to use them. Now for the last 28 years Mr. Sievers has been a computer science teacher. Mr. Sievers currently teach CS at Kooser elementary school here in Lincoln. He believes that all students should have a basic understanding of how computers work.Mr. Sievers wife is also an educator here in Lincoln and his sons all are graduates of the Lincoln Public School system.

 

Mr. Ron Schinkel, Teacher

Mr. Schinkel is a the Computer Science teacher at Morley Elementary School and an instructor at the LPS Summer Technology Program. He has been a teacher in LPS for 25 years, of which 24 have been in Computer Science. Hr enjoy teaching students how to use technology to enhance their education. Mr. Schinkel also is reserve softball coach at Lincoln East high school. he has coached Spartan softball for 12 years. In his spare time he likes to try to fish and follow baseball.

 

Mr. Patrick Fielder, Teacher

Mr. Fielder has been the Computer Science Specialist at Riley Elementary for the past 4 years, prior to that he taught both 3rd and 5th grade for a number of years in LPS.  Prior to returning to teaching, he worked in the publishing industry and for a dot com.  Mr. Fielder is married with 3 children, boy and girl twins who will be entering middle school next year and a daughter who is going into her Junior year at the Science Focus Program.

 

Ms. Lisa Bohaty, Teacher

I am a K-5 Computer Science Teacher and Elementary Tech Leader at Campbell Elementary.  I am a Google Certified Teacher and Trainer.  I love helping students and teachers grow using technology. My mission is to empower teachers to empower students to change the world. I am also really excited for my first year of LPS Summer Technology Program.

 

Mr. Mark Danley

Mr. Danley is a member of the 6A team at Scott Middle School.  This is his 19th year in the LPS school district.  He is a big fan of Technology, Writing, Reading, Science and Social Studies and a rabid fan of the Big Red! He is kind of a Star Wars geek and is a huge fan of Movies!! He was born and raised in Beatrice Nebraska and roots for the Orangemen when he gets a chance. He served in the Army National Guard as a Medic and has plans to compete in a Triathlon in the near future. His wife Merry, three boys Max, Sophmore SAE (UNL), Cooper, Senior (LSW) and Parker, Junior (LSW) and pug dog (Bugs, UNL Law School) have lived in Lincoln for the past 28 years.  They love playing sports, snow skiing, rooting for our favorite teams, swimming, biking and anything else that keeps us moving.

 

Mr. Jason Rushing

Mr. Rushing is the K-5 Computer Science Teacher at Wysong Elementary.  He’s been a teacher for 23 years and was one of the founding teachers for the Summer Technology Program!!  He loves teaching kids to code and helping them learn more about computer science!  One of his favorite programs to code with is Scratch.  He also loves the color green, Starbucks coffee, chocolate, and Taco Inn or Chipotle.

 

Mr. Jason Brunott

My name is Mr. Brunott and I have been teaching art at Kooser Elementary for the past nine years. Since my first year of teaching I have been helping with the Summer Technology Program (STP). Some of the classes I have taught are: Photoshop Basics, Weebly Websites, Comic Shorts, and Claymation. I have been married for 14 years to my wonderful wife Sally. We have two daughters: Brooklynn (7) and Emersyn (4). In our free time we like to play games, go to movies, and take family vacations.

 

Mr. Tate Mlady, Teacher

I started out as an Art Educator and switched to Computer Science. Teaching CS has allowed me to be creative with the students doing digital paintings, making posters, and making animations and other projects using code, google classroom, and kidpix. Lincoln has been my home for over 5 years now, but I originally grew up in Kimball, South Dakota. When I’m not teaching I like spending time with my wife and working on getting better at drawing and digital painting.

 

Ms. Stephanie Nantkes

Ms. Nantkes loves working in education and has had numerous experiences in LPS. She also loves challenging students through projects and encouraging them to also learn through play. Ms. Nantkes enjoys STP because she gets to see students in a different learning environment
