Lego Robotics Ev 3 Class (Grades 4, 5, 6, & 7)

Lego Robotics kits allow students to create the smartest, strongest and most advanced Lego robot ever! LEGO Ev 3 MINDSTORM includes an all-new Ev 3 Intelligent Brick with 32-bit microprocessor, a sound sensor, an ultrasonic visual sensor, an improved touch sensor, an improved light sensor and easy-to-use Windows and Macintosh programming software. Maximum of 16 participants. Students will be required to work with a partner. The course is designed for two students per kit

Web Page Design/Web Graphics (Grades 6, 7, 8 & 9)

Have you ever wanted to make your own Web site? In this course we are going to learn about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, three of the most important parts of creating a site. You will get to design your own pages and type in your code to make your ideas come to life.

Animation and Coding (Grades 4, 5, 6, & 7)

Do you like pixel art, animation, and coding? Then this is the course for you! Students will spend the week making 2D Animation projects. All projects will be created using coding on Scratch, The Piskel App, and Bloxels. You will have the chance to make your very own pixel .gif animations, create your own animated characters, and construct your very own video game level!

Claymation (Grades 6, 7, 8 & 9)

Do you like working with clay? Do you like working on computers? Well, this class offers both! In this course, students will create a short animated movie using clay figures and/or objects, taking photographs of them, and importing them into iMovie. Students will also have the opportunity to add sound using GarageBand and editing images in Adobe Photoshop. Come and join the fun!!

Whether it’s your first day or you are a Minecraft pro, this is the course for you.  In this course you will create your own Minecraft Tutorials using Jing. Discover Minecraft tricks even your friends don’t know! Redstone, texture packs, new updates, resource packs and biomes are just some of what you will find in this class that is ALL Minecraft!

Vex Robotics (Grades 6, 7, 8 & 9)

Are you interested in robotics, coding, and working with others to build awesomely epic robots? If so, come join us for a week of robotics fun at LPS Summer Technology Program! Working in teams you will obtain hands-on experience building, programming and controlling VEX robots capable of performing various tasks. Some of the projects covered are: lifting mechanisms, remote control operation, and the basics of programming. The camp will conclude with a robot competition between the various teams.
